Experts from the University Center for Energy Efficient Buildings of the Czech Technical University designed, manufactured and tested the first prototype of a combined solar collector for heating the water / air pair of heat transfer agents.

Although access to workplaces in connection with the COVID-19 epidemic was limited, the Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague had decided to present its scientific workplaces of interest to high school students, but also to other curious parties.

Asymbolic check of a special financial collection was organized by the Czech-Israeli Mixed Chamber of Commerce (ČISOK) for the Czech Technical University in Prague (CTU) on 11 June 2020. The collection was announced at the beginning of April and by the end of May, the chamber managed to collect CZK 607,000. The donation will be used for a project of improvised full-face masks for first-line physicians, in which CTU cooperates with the COVID19CZ working group.

All trams of the Prague Transport Company (DPP) will have new receivers that will allow them to receive signals from the Galileo, GPS, Glonass and BeiDou navigation systems. Experts from the Department of Radio Electronics at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Czech Technical University (FEE) are involved in their implementation.

The Czech Technical University in Prague significantly improved in the evaluation of the prestigious QS World University Rankings for the year 2021. It ranked 432nd in the overall ranking of 1604 universities, a significant shift of 66 places compared to the 2020 ranking.

Karel Zavadil, a student of the bachelor's program in Software Engineering and Technology, at Faculty of Electrical Engineering, developed a unique application Social Worker on Mobile, which aims to provide individuals in an unfavorable social situation with relevant professional assistance by filling out a simple questionnaire. The application was developed by the student Karel Zavadil himself within his diploma work, supervised by Ing. Martin Komárek from the Department of Computers. Its use is very intuitive. The application offers the user a number of simple questions and, based on the chosen answers, evaluates the situation and suggests further action, including contacts to specific workplaces in the area as social service providers, authorities and non-profit organizations.

Last year, the image taken in cooperation with the Department of Materials of the Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering with the institutes of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic won the competition of the prestigious professional journal Materials Today. It appeared on the cover of one of this year's issues of the magazine as one of ten winning images.

The web application Technical monuments of the Elbe-Vltava waterway will delight tourists, those interested in history and technical monuments before the summer season. The application documents the existing technical historical objects on this waterway and their construction and technological elements and makes them available to the public. At the same time, it offers tips on tourist attractions around rivers. get acquainted with a number of digitized historical documents, maps and drawings.
