Spot from Boston Dynamics is a robodog of which the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of CTU is duly proud. The mobile and commercially marketed end-user robot is also the star of the feature film 'Ordinary Failures' since September 2022. Although he is unrecognisable on screen due to his disguise, this does not detract from the unique connection between the cyber world and the world of filmmaking.
How to support and motivate students in their scientific research? Students receive an exceptional scholarship or financial reward within the framework of the summer student research support programme called Research Summer at FIT (VýLeT) for independent scientific work and its publication. It is already running its 6th year at Faculty of Information Technology and its aim is to involve students in scientific research activities. This is the sixth time that FIT CTU has invested almost two million crowns in supporting the scientific activities of students.
The Faculty of Biomedical Engineering (FBMI) has had a number of exceptional graduates in its 17-year history who have achieved significant success in their professional lives, engaged as volunteers or positively influenced public life. Further advances in correlative probe and electron microscopy are expected from a project co-funded by the Czech Technology Agency, which started this year. The project consortium consists of five partners. The lead partners are two hi-tech companies, COXEM on the Korean side and NenoVision on the Czech side, joined by three academic partners, the Korea Institute of Science and Technology, Jeonbuk National University in Korea and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague. The main output of the project will be the establishment of two reference laboratories for correlative microscopy at KIST and CTU, with upgraded instruments.

This is how the presentation of Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Faculty of Biomedical Engineering of CTU at the international exhibition Future Forces Forum could be briefly described. Yesterday, CTU University Centre for Energy Efficient Buildings in Prague signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the company Affordable Housing of Česká spořitelna with the aim of supporting its projects focused on new housing construction that will be environmentally friendly and offer affordable housing to people who would otherwise not be able to afford it.
