CTU has been presented as whole at the 15th Prague Museum Night at the National Technical Museum on the night of 9 to 10 June. It was the second most visited museum, with more than 10,000 visitors during the evening and throughout the night. As part of the event, the Faculty of Architecture in Dejvice was also accessible.

The following year of the University rowing boats race took place at Rašínovo nábřeží in Prague on Friday, 8 June. The CTU team won the Primátorky competition for the sixth time in a row. The triumph is credited to the crew consisting of Jiří Kopáč, Jan Hájek, Jiří Vaněk, Milan Bruncvík, Vít Šantrůček, Martin Basl, Jakub Paroulek, Jan Zavadil and the helmsman Tereza Paroulková.

Professor of Building Physics at the University of Innsbruck and founder of the Passivhaus Institut in Darmstadt, Wolfgang Feist, visited the University Center of Energy-Efficient Buildings of the CTU with a lecture entitled "Results of 25 Years Passivhouse Accompanying Research," during which he shared the results of twenty-five years of research and development of energy passive houses.

The Masaryk Institute of Advanced Studies organized the third annual Albín Bráf Conference on 30 May, this time in an international format. The opportunity to present the results of their work and to publish in the peer-reviewed proceedings was also provided by the students; financial rewards for the best contributions were given to Henrik Wagner of TU Braunschweig, Alice Blažková from the CTU Masaryk Institute of Advanced Studies, Tomáš Havel from the CTU Faculty of Transportation Technology and Erik Poláček from Silesian University.

With a design for cleaning the construction site, a team of students at the Faculty of Civil Engineering won against 1259 participants from 58 countries in the international creative student competition The Trail by Vinci Construction which focuses on innovations and new technologies in building construction. The team of Lucie Stupková, Jakub Starosta, Radek Benetka and Jakub Volf won the Leonard category, which allows for entry into the Paris start-up incubator of the VINCI Construction group and to turn the project into practice together with developers and specialists.

The automotive novelty has been successfully tested by scientists at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering. They developed a driving control system similar to that used in both civilian and military aircraft. The pilot does not control the individual elements directly, but only passes the impulses to the electronic control unit which then performs maneuvers itself with respect to other flight parameters.

The Unique Laboratory of Anatomical Models was opened on 25 May at the CTU Faculty of Biomedical Engineering in Kladno. The opening of the Laboratory equipped with plasticised human bodies and authentic human organs supplemented the presentation of the virtual autopsy table by Hellago, a sought acquisition by the faculty. It's basically a giant tablet with virtual scalpel that allows for virtual cuts on the human body.

Diploma works of Ing. arch. Filip Galko and Ing. arch. Veronika Indrová succeeded in the Young Talent Architecture Award (YTAA) 2018. They were among the top 40 out of the 334 nominated best diploma projects by schools of 32 countries selected by international jury. Filip Galko was a student of Stempel & Beneš Studio, Veronika Indrova studied at Novotny - Koňata - Zmek Studio, both of which are part of the Design Institute I.

The Center of City of the Future at CTU-CIIRC (CCF) was opened in the Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics on 23 May, under the auspices of the Rector of CTU, doc. RNDr. Vojtěch Petráček, CSc. The CCF is conceived as a virtual experimental testbed of a city, region, landscape and its technical infrastructure as well as other types of urban settlements and features that are located there. This complex interconnected system will serve as urban research tool, link academia, commercial spheres and municipalities, help present projects and augment education. This workplace is part of the Department of Intelligent Systems led by the director of CTU-CIIRC prof. Ing. Vladimír Marík, DrSc., and will be managed under the direction of Ing. arch. Michal Postránecký.

Representatives of the Masaryk Institute of Advanced Studies, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, ERA-BHC CS s.r.o., Omnipol, a.s., CybEe and Ambassador of Estonia in the Czech Republic signed a contract to provide the Cyber Hygiene e-Learning Software platform. It consists of one thousand user licenses for the needs of university students and employees. For now the licence will be available for a period of two years, provided in cooperation with the distributor of this platform for the Czech Republic, ERA-HBC CS s.r.o., intended for use by selected academic staff and students of Masaryk Institute of Advanced Studies and the Department of Telecommunication Technology of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering.
