Research in the field of machine learning and deep neural networks requires time, funds and an extremely powerful software system. Faculty of Information Technology (FIT CTU) provides not only its students of the Artificial Intelligence specialization study programme with a computational GPU cloud based on the state-of-the-art NVIDIA DGX A100 software system worth over 4 million crowns. Thanks to this, students can, for example, simulate the airflow around an airplane wing or determine the age of a person based on facial scans.

Vladislav Andronov is currently working at Škoda Auto in a PhD programme. He is a member of a four-member team that has developed a method of metal 3D printing. They were introduced to this method only ten years ago, and now they have their own printer.
The work of students of our faculty has recently won valuable awards. The exposition of the Jaroš-Bednář studio won the competition for the best school presentation at the international Designblok competition. The jury of the Building of the Year 2022 competition awarded three posadas, a design-build project by the Hlaváček-Čeněk studio, with the Foundation for the Development of Architecture and Construction Award.
On 4 November 2022, the Grant Agency of the Czech Republic published the results of two prestigious calls for proposals under the EXPRO and Junior Star grant groups, both of which are instruments for supporting excellent science based on a demanding international evaluation process. Association of Research Universities of the Czech Republic (AVUni) was awarded 8 out of 10 supported EXPRO projects, while in the Junior Star call it succeeded with 17 projects out of 23.
Representatives of the CTU Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics, CTU Faculty of Information Technology and CzechTrade signed a memorandum of cooperation in the project Demand and Supply Ukraine 2022. The joint project will use the unique know-how of the partners, which aims to effectively, economically and digitally support the renewal of the Ukrainian business environment. The project is also supported by the Business Club Ukraine, led by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic. The project will also involve CTU students.
The second edition of the international EuroTeQ Collider competition was launched on Thursday 3 November. In it, students from the individual universities of the EuroTeQ association (Technical University of Munich, Technical University of Denmark, Technical University of Eindhoven, École Polytechnique, Tallinn University of Technology and CTU in Prague) tackle the "Leave No Waste Behind" challenge. The topics themselves are proposed to the students by the alliance's industrial partners.

In the face of planned EU regulations, what technological changes are in store for AI algorithms? This question was addressed by the researchers of the international project AutoFair, who met at FEL CTU on 25 October 2022. The official launch of the $95 million Horizon Europe project brought a number of interesting insights from research and practice. They were shared by Marcel Kolaja, Member of European Parliament, Irina Orssich, Head of Sector AI Policy at the European Commission, Martin Hodula, Head of Research at Czech National Bank, and representatives of FEL CTU, Israel's Technion, IBM Research, software companies Workable and Avast, startup Dateio and French bank BNP Paribas. What conclusions did they reach?
Spot from Boston Dynamics is a robodog of which the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of CTU is duly proud. The mobile and commercially marketed end-user robot is also the star of the feature film 'Ordinary Failures' since September 2022. Although he is unrecognisable on screen due to his disguise, this does not detract from the unique connection between the cyber world and the world of filmmaking.
