During his ten-month stay, Dr. Pacheco-Vega will collaborate with the Department of Environmental Engineering, FME on his project, “Toward the Effective Use of Energy in Multi-Room Buildings via Physics-Informed and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Methodologies).” His research aims to enhance building energy performance through advanced modeling and AI-based optimization, supporting CTU’s focus on smart, energy-efficient systems and broader EU climate goals. In addition to his research, he will teach a course on soft computing techniques for thermal systems, introducing modern computational tools for energy analysis and optimization. A recognized expert in thermal-fluid sciences and sustainable energy systems, Dr. Pacheco-Vega directs the NSF-funded CREST Center for Advancement toward Sustainable Urban Systems (CATSUS) and the Sikand Center for Sustainable and Intelligent Infrastructure at Cal State LA. His Fulbright visit will deepen research collaboration between CTU and Cal State LA and advance innovation in sustainable urban energy systems.
