One of the first joint projects will be the realization of a memorial plaque to the prominent Serbian-American scientist Michael Pupin in the lobby of the CTU building on Charles Square in Prague 2. Michael Pupin received an honorary degree of Doctor of Technical Sciences from the Czech Technical University in Prague in 1928.
Future cooperation plans also include lectures on current socio-cultural, political and environmental topics.
"Prague 2 is home to many of the CTU's buildings and institutions, including faculties and Hlávka dormitory, where we meet every year on the anniversaries of two historic events on 17 November 1939 and 1989. And we have historical relations with Serbia, especially in the scientific field, so the connection between the city district, the embassy and the university seems to me to be absolutely meaningful," said Vojtěch Petráček, rector of CTU.
