The traditional Rector's Sports Day took place at the CTU sporting grounds on Tuesday 14 May,. The organization of the whole event and the implementation of individual sports competitions was sponsored by the Department of Physical Education and Sport.

Even before Tuesday's "starting shot", students and employees of CTU could notice the first innovation, which was the new website of the event (sportovnidencvut.cz). Thanks to the website, they could not only choose from a varied and clear offer of individual sports, but also register for individual tournaments and find out everything they needed. The event was also promoted through traditional communication channels (social networks, information panels, bulletin boards, posters). The range of physical activities has also been slightly changed. The varied offer of the Rector's Day this year included the following sports: softball, archery, canoeing, basketball, table tennis, squash, futsal, hiking, volleyball, tennis, frisbee, cycling, bowling, beach volleyball, dragon boats and the novel orienteering run.

As usueally every year, the biggest attention was payed to the duel of faculties on dragon boats connected with the accompanying program and pleasant background of the shipyard in Prague´s Chuchle. Ten crews from CTU were supplemented by three more from the Institute of Chemical Technology, which added a proper boost to the duels on the Vltava River. During the day, around four hundred students, graduates, current and former employees had a lot of sporting fun at the Chuchle shipyard. Rector Vojtěch Petráček handed over the cups to the best crews in each category to the applause of all participants.

The other most represented tournaments were futsal (60 participants), volleyball (93) and bowling (40). However, other sports such as table tennis (21), softball (22), tennis (22), beach volleyball (30), squash (7), archery (6) also found their fans. Two teams met in basketball and frisbee. There was also great interest in outdoor activities, over forty students went on the water (Sázava 15, Berounka 26), ten people chose hiking, eighteen went orienteering and twelve cyclists went cycling.

The total of over 800 active sports participants involved proves that there is considerable interest in the event. However, the Rector's Sports Day has not only sporting but also social significance; it is undoubtedly one of the biggest events at CTU where students can identify with their university.
