The competition accepts works on transport and telecommunication topics in the following areas: transport construction, economics of transport and electronic communications, design of transport means and buildings, transport in cities and agglomerations, use of modern technologies in the field of transport (telematics, digitalization), automated transport means and Smart Cities.
The competition was held under the auspices of the Dean of the faculty prof. Ing. Ondřej Přibyl, Ph.D. and Ing. Patrik Horažďovský, Ph.D., Vice Dean for Teaching.
Entry to the competition was possible from 3 November 2022 to 15 January 2023. The evaluation of the competition entries was held in two rounds. In the first round, the competition entries were evaluated in a private meeting of an expert jury. A public presentation of the competition entries took place, when the students presented their contributions to the expert jury at Faculty of Transportation Sciences on 24 February 2023. On the basis of these presentations, the final decision of the jury was made and then the results of the competition were announced at a ceremony attended by the Dean of the Faculty.
All the entries were of a high standard, as were the personal presentations of the high school students. The jury, which consisted of Ing. Zdeněk Michl, Ing. Bc. Dagmar Kočárková, Ph.D., Ing. Jakub Nováček, Ph.D., Ing. Eva Endrizalová, Ph.D., Ing. Josef Mík, Ph.D. and Ing. Patrik Horažďovský, Ph.D. However, the project of Vojtěch Jánský from secondary school of civil engineering at Dušní street, "Modification of transportation lines 336, 365 and 386", which took the first place, was the most popular. The second place was taken by Jan Velička from secondary school of transportation technology at Masná street with his work "Concept of PID tariff arrangement". Ondřej Blažek from the grammar school in Třeboň took 3rd place with his project "Regional Airport". In addition to diplomas and promotional items of the faculty, the awarded students received valuable vouchers to Alza.cz and vouchers for flight simulators and to the Transport Hall at the faculty.
The XVth year of the Dean's Award of the Faculty of Transportation Sciences competition is closed and high school students can look forward to the announcement of the next year.
