With a six-month delay caused by the coronavirus pandemic, student carsharing Uniqway celebrated its third birthday. The service, created and run by students, first launched on 17 October 2018 and within three and a half years had expanded its fleet to 36 vehicles - a ŠKODA FABIA, a SCALA and an electric CITIGOe iV. Since the beginning, the service has been available to students and employees of partner universities, including the Czech Technical University in Prague. Since last year, Uniqway services have also been available to their graduates. More than 6,000 users have already signed up for the service, with more than 1,000,000 km driven collectively.

The celebration brought together not only members of the student team that created and manages the service, but also representatives of the management of partner universities, including Ing. Veronika Kramaříková, MBA, Vice-Rector for Development and Strategy af CTU. Partners from ŠKODA AUTO a.s. and ŠKODA AUTO DigiLab s.r.o. were also present.

The Czech Technical University in Prague has been involved in the student carsharing project from the very beginning. A team of students led by Ing. Václav Jirovský, Ph.D., is responsible for the development of the entire technical aspect, such as the hardware unit of the vehicle, the mobile application or the backend of the entire system.

We wish Uniqway many happy users and millions more kilometres in the years to come!
