As part of the expanding cooperation of the Czech Technical University in Prague with universities around the world, Rector Vojtěch Petráček was visited today by representatives of the University of Health Sciences and the Institute of Technology Cambodia.

Karel Roubík, vice-dean of the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering of CTU, was present at the meeting, as this is a joint project of these two universities and FBMI.

The cooperation between the universities and the CTU is supported by the Czech Development Agency, which has resulted in an established study programme in biomedical engineering. The first five Cambodian students are already studying with laboratory equipment supplied by CTU.

Currently, the next stage of cooperation is being prepared, which will aim not only to raise the level of training of biomedical engineers, but also to promote this profession, which is necessary to ensure a high standard of medical care, the safety of medical technology for patients and doctors and, last but not least, to streamline processes in Cambodian hospitals.
