Tereza Havránková, a student of the Project Management and Engineering master's programme, succeeded in the International Real Estate Challenge 2022 (IREC), which took place in Italy at the Politecnico di Milano from 10 to 21 January. The competition was sponsored by RICS - Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and four students from the Faculty of Civil Engineering of CTU participated in it.

Due to the covid situation, the competition was combined, both online and in person. The students were divided into 15 international teams, each team representing a virtual real estate company that had to offer a large American client a suitable property for their next business. During the event, the teams moved to 8 European destinations, be it physically or online, which consisted of Barcelona, Berlin, Bratislava, Tampere, Madrid, Milan, Valencia and Prague, while the other part worked similarly in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Ankara or Istanbul. Here for over three days, lectures on the local real estate market, including visits to three major real estate projects, were organised.

A jury of practitioners selected one winning project - the proposal of the Valencia team. Its members were students from Politecnico di Milano, Tampere University and CTU in Prague, represented by Tereza Havránková. It was a unique experience for all participants to work in international teams.
