On 14 December, the best CTU athletes for 2021 were awarded. The first three places were taken by canoe slalom racers Vít Přindiš, Martina Satková and Antonie Galušková. The rector of CTU, doc. Vojtěch Petráček, awarded four athletes in the presence of Director doc. Jiří Drnek and doc. Zdeněk Valjent of the Institute of Physical Education and Sport of CTU. In the poll for the best CTU athlete for 2021, 17 athletes were selected.

The winner, Ing. Vít Přindiš, is in the 2nd year of his Master's degree at the Masaryk Institute of Higher Studies of Czech Technical University (MIHS) and is a canoe slalom racer. Last year, he was very successful at the 22nd International Canoe Slalom Championships held in Ivrea, Italy, where he became a triple European champion, namely he won 1st place in the K1 slalom; 1st place in the K1 extreme slalom; 1st place in the 3x K1 team competition. In addition, he competed for CTU at the World Championships in Bratislava (4th place in the team competition and 10th place in the extreme slalom); he took the 1st place in the overall World Cup ranking in the K1 slalom; 1st place in the overall World Cup ranking in the extreme slalom on K1; except for the team competition, these are all results for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games discipliness.

The second Bc. Martina Satková is a 1st year student of the Master's program at the MIHS. She competes in canoe slalom and whitewater cayaking. At the World Championships in Bratislava she took the 1st place in C1 team (3x C1); 3rd place in C1 women's sprint (whitewater kayaking); at the U23 World Championships in Tacen she took the 1st place in C1 team (3x C1) and 2nd place in K1 women’s extreme slalom; at the U23 European Championships in Solkan whe place first in C1 team (3x C1); followed by the 1st place at the World Cup in Spain (La Seu d'Urgell) in K1 women’s extreme slalom; 1st place at the Czech Republic Championships in K1 women’s extreme slalom; and 2nd place in the Canoeist of the Year poll (sprint section).

The third-placed Antonie Galušková studies at the Faculty of Transportation of Czech Technical University for the second year and competes in canoe slalom. Her sporting achievements for the past year include: at the World Championships in Bratislava she took the 2nd place in teams (3x K1); 6th place in the individual K1 race; at the European Championships in Ivrea, Italy she took the 3rd place in teams (3x K1) and 15th place in the individual K1 race; at the U23 World Championships in Tacen she took the 3rd place in K1 extreme slalom; at the World Cup in Prague she placed 9th in K1; followed by the 1st place at the U23 Czech Republic Championships in K1; and the overall 2nd place in the ČEZ Group Championship. 

The fourth place went to Bc. Vít Hlaváč, a 1st year student of the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering of Czech Technical University, who is dedicated to athletics, specifically racewalking. At the Olympic Games in Tokyo he won the 43rd place in the 50 km walk; 35th place at the European Championships in the 20 km team walk; he was 1st 3 times at the Czech Republic Championships in the 20 km, 35 km and 50 km race; during the 50 km race his intermediate time for 35 km was 2:41:26), which is listed as the Czech record on this new track and places him 15th in the world tables on the new track for 35 km walk.

Anežka Paloudová, a 4th year bachelor's student at the Faculty of Civil Engineering of Czech Technical University, also competes in speed canoeing. In 2021 she won: 4th place at the World Championships in Copenhagen in K1 1000 m, and 9th place in K1 500 m there; 10th place in K4 500 m and 11th place in K1 500 m at the European Championships in Poznan; 2nd place in K1 1000 m at the U23 World Championships in Portugal;  2nd place at the U23 European Championships in Poznan in K1 1000 m; 2nd place at the World Cup in Barnaul (Russia) in K1 1000 m. She is a 5 times Czech champion; No. 2 in women’s K1 1000 m and No. 9 in women’s K1 500 m in world ranking, and 4 times winner of the Czech Academic Championships.

The sixth place went to Bc. Jakub Dobrý, a 1st year student of the Faculty of Information Technology of CTU. He competes in sailing (RS 500 class, with his sister) and in 2021 the placed: 1st at the World Championship in Como, Italy (they also won the Family and Mixed Crew competition (there are 33 boat classes, this one is non-Olympic, 58 boats from 8 countries competed); 1st in the overall European Cup; 1st in the European Junior Cup; 1st in the Dutch Championship; 1st in the German Championship.

Seventh in the poll was Ing. Lukáš Gdula, who is a PhD student at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of Czech Technical University and competes in athletics. In the racewalking discipline took: 46th place at the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 50 km; 39th place at the European Team Championships in 20 km; 4 x 2nd place at the Czech Championships in various distances.

Eighth Bc. Jakub Zavřel is a 3rd year master's student at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, CTU. In speed canoeing he won: 3rd place at the European Championships in Poznan in K1 500 m; 12th place at the World Championships in Copenhagen in K2 200 m mix, and 13th place there in K1 1000 m; 1st place at the World Cup in Barnaul (Russia) in K1 500 m. Currently he is second in the world ranking for K1 500 m. In addition, he took 2x 1st place at the Czech Championships in K1 200 m and K1 1000 m; 2x 1st place at the Czech Academic Championships in K1 200 m and K1 1000 m.

Ninth Bc. Josef Kolář studies at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Czech Technical University, 2nd year of his Master's degree. His discipline is weightlifting. He won: 10th place in the total(327 kg) at the European Championships in Moscow (12th place in the snatch and 11th place in the clean and jerk; 1st place at the Czech Republic Championships in the total in the category up to 96 kg (320 kg); 1st place at the World Championships in the category up to 96 kg (320 kg); 1st place at the World Championships in the category up to 96 kg (320 kg). He holds Czech records for men up to 96 kg: snatch 147 kg, clean and jerk187 kg, total 334 kg; Czech records for men up to 102 kg: snatch 156 kg, clean and jerk 188 kg, total 342 kg.

The tenth Barbora Betlachová is a student of the 2nd year of the bachelor's program at the MIHS and competes in speed canoeing and kayaking. She took: 8th place at the World Championships in Copenhagen in quadruple kayak 500 m; 6th place at the U23 World Championships in Portugal in K4 500 m; 5th place at the European Championships in Poznan in K4 500 m; 1st place at the Czech Championships in K4 500 m; 5th place at the Czech Championships in K1 500 m and 200 m.

Eleventh Bc. Tomáš Klinský studies the 1st year of his bachelor's degree at the Faculty of Transportation of CTU and his discipline is downhill skiing. He scored the following successes: champion of the Czech Republic in super G; victory at the Slovak Championships in super G; nomination for the World Championships in Cortina ď Ampezzo for speed disciplines and Alpine skiing. Unfortunately, upon departure Tomáš tested positive for Covid-19; after his recovery, he took 1st place in super G at the FIS International competition in Passo San Pellegrino and 6th and 7th place, respectively, at the Slovenian Downhill and Alpine Championships in Tarvisio.

The twelfth Petr Čech is a student of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of CTU, 1st year of bachelor’s studies, and competes in windsurfing - slalom and foil slalom. Last year he won: 4th place at the U21 World Championships in Italy; 3rd place at the U21 European Championships in Austria; 1st place at the International Championships of the Czech Republic in the men's category; 1st place at the Czech Championships in the men's category; 21st place at the World Cup in Croatia in the men's category.

Thirteenth-placed Emma Maštalířová studies the 2nd year of her bachelor's degree at the Faculty of Civil Engineering of Czech Technical University and in athletics, specifically triple jump, she took: 11th place in the qualification for the U23 European Championships in Tallinn (she could not enter the final competition due to quarantine); 6th place at the European Team Championships in Cluj (1st league, 2nd highest European competition); 2x 1st place at the Czech Republic Championships (outdoor, indoor); 2nd place at the U22 Czech National Championships; 2x 1st place at the Czech Academic Games (long jump, triple jump); personal best in triple jump 13.38 m.

The 14th place was taken by Štěpán Potůček, who studies at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Czech Technical University, 2nd year of bachelor's studies. His discipline is sport climbing where he achieved the following results in 2021: 61st place in climbing at the World Championships in Moscow; 63rd place in bouldering at the World Championships in Moscow; 34th place at the European Bouldering Cupin Krakow; 2x 2nd place at the Czech Academic Championships in climbing and in bouldering.

Fifteenth Jan Kolář is a 1st year bachelor student of the Faculty of Nuclear and Physical Engineering of Czech Technical University and competes in weightlifting, specifically powerlifting. He placed: 6th at the U20 European Championships in weightlifting in the category up to 102 kg; 4th at the U19 GPC World Championships in powerlifting in the category up to 100 kg; 1st at the U20 Czech Championships in weightlifting in the category up to 102 kg; 2nd at the U23 Czech Championships in weightlifting in the category up to 102 kg; 2nd at the Czech National Championships in men’s weightlifting in the category up to 102 kg. In 2021 he set 14 new national records for juniors up to 20 years of age (2x in the snatch in the category up to 96 kg; 4x in the snatch in the category up to 102 kg, 4x in the clean and jerk up to 102 kg, and 4x in the total up to 102 kg).

Sixteenth Aneta Pokorná studies the 2nd year of her bachelor's degree at the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering of Czech Technical University. Her disciplines are jiu jitsu, sambo and judo, in which she won: 2nd place at the U21 World Championships in jiu jitsu in Abu Dhabi in the weight category up to 57 kg; bronze at the Czech Judo Cup in Brno in the category up to 57 kg; she took the top place in the world rankings in women's jiu jitsu up to 57 kg in the category up to 21 years. 

The seventeenth place went to Jan Trafina, a 4th year student of the Faculty of Civil Engineering of Czech Technical University. He competes in athletics. He scored success in the following races: final at the U23 European Championships in Tallinn in 4x100 m relay (disqualification); 24th place at the U23 European Championships in 200 m; 5th place at the Czech Republic Championships in 200 m; 4th place at the Czech Republic Championships in 100 m and 200 m; 2nd place at the Czech Academic Championships in 100 m and 3rd place in 400 m.
