At one of the world's biggest events in the field of cyber security - the Prague 5G Security Conference - Prof. Igor Jex, Dean of the Faculty of Nuclear and Physical Engineering at Czech Technical University in Prague (FJFI) and also one of the leading experts in quantum technologies, spoke in a panel discussion. The event held on 30 November and 1 December 2021 was organized by the National Cyber and Information Security Agency (NÚKIB) in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and under the auspices of the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic.

This year's conference focused on issues related to security of 5G networks and emerging and disruptive technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence, Autonomous Systems, Big Data Advanced Analytics, Quantum Communication Infrastructure and Massive Internet of Things. Prof. Igor Jex spoke on the panel entitled Fast and Furious - Disruptive Technologies Transforming the Threat Landscape, introduced by David Van Weel, NATO Assistant Secretary General for Emerging Security Challenges. Professor Jex particularly emphasized the topic of national security and the role of the National Quantum Infrastructure, in the developing of which FJFI participates.

In total, over 1,300 experts from all over the world attended the virtual conference. It featured over seventy speakers from 20 countries, including, for example, Vice-President of the European Commission Věra Jourová, NATO Deputy Secretary General Mircea Geoană, Australian Minister of Home Affairs Karen Andrews, and UK Minister of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Julia Lopez.

At the end of the Prague 5G Security Conference, the Prague Proposals on Cyber Security of EDTs were presented. The participating countries agreed on possible principles for a future approach to disruptive technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Communication Infrastructure, Big Data Advanced Analytics, Autonomous Systems and Massive Internet of Things. As a result of this year's event, the second Prague Proposals on Telecommunications Supplier Diversity were drafted.
