From 10 to 14 November 2021, the CTU sports team took part in the VI World Interuniversity Games held in Rome. A total of 88 of our students, members of 10 sports teams, won the right to represent our University in a strong competition of 13 countries, 39 universities and approximately 1,800 athletes.

After adding up all the results in the 15 sports competitions offered, our team won the overall 2nd place, behind the winning Comenius University in Bratislava. "The winning swimming and badminton teams contributed the most to our significant success and visibility for their gold medals and 10 points for our university. The other medal winning teams also deserve a full discharge for their sporting performances: the silver medal winning footballers, futsal players, tennis and basketball players with 7 points and the bronze medal winning volleyball players with 5 points," says doc. PaedDr. Zdeněk Valjent, PhD., the head of our sports team, from the Institute of Physical Education and Sport of the CTU.

The basketball players (3 points for 4th place that were added to the overall points), volleyball players and rugby players (one point each for 5th - 8th place) also contributed to our success.
