CTU in Prague was represented twice during the 2nd annual national competition Transfera Technology Day, held at the National Technical Library on 21 October. The statuette for the final participation went to two projects. The first one is the Pad for sensing the load and position of the patient by doc. Ing. Lukáš Vojtěch, Ph.D., and Ing. Marek Neruda, Ph.D., from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, CTU. The second one is the Device for wire treatment for implant surgery by Ing. Karel Tesar from the Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering of CTU with the participation of the CAS.

The jury composed of representatives of the business community, investors and organizers evaluated the commercial potential of research projects from Czech universities and other research organizations.

The aim of the event is to connect business and science in order to obtain feedback on the commercial readiness of projects and, in the future, to obtain funding for promising scientific projects.

For the final round of the competition, 13 scientific research projects were selected. In addition to teams from the CTU in Prague, the competition was attended by scientific teams from the National Institute of Mental Health, the Institute of Physical Chemistry J. Heyrovský Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, Palacký University in Olomouc, University of Hradec Králové, Brno University of Technology, Hradec Králové University Hospital, University of Mining - Technical University Ostrava, Masaryk University, Institute of Structure and Mechanics of Rocks of the CAS, Institute of Geonics of the CAS and University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice.

This year, the tablets for contaminated water treatment won the 2nd annual Transfera Technology Day national competition. The second place went to a microemulsion for cleaning historical materials and the bronze position went to a project for determining the presence of bacteria in amniotic fluid.

Projects that qualify for the final round can use the TRANSFER TECHNOLOGY DAY 2021 FINALIST label. The certificate is a sign of quality and can help to secure more than just financial support. Finalist projects will also receive an invitation to the Technology Incubation Programme of the CzechInvest Agency, which can make up to CZK 5 million available for each project.

If you also have such a project, please contact inkubator@cvut.cz, they will be happy to help you.
