Uniqway student carsharing did not stop even under coronavirus restrictions. On the contrary, the service continues to work and the unexpected situation has even contributed to the introduction of several practical innovations. Those interested in using the service can now register from the comfort of their home. The fleet of cars that students and employees of Prague universities can borrow has grown with the ŠKODA CITIGOe iV electric car with the distinctive name Electrician. Twenty-three cars are available for the summer.

Uniqway registration points were also closed during the coronavirus pandemic (eg in an Italian building next to a canteen). "We were logically forced to speed up the development of a complete online registration. This was successful and we launched the system in recent weeks, "explains Marie Stuchlíková, a member of the Uniqway marketing team.

Another summer novelty is the ŠKODA CITIGOe iV electric car. Thanks to it, Uniqway offers users a new direction in mobility: environmental friendliness and sustainability. "What I like most about Uniqway is that even an ordinary student can try driving a new and modern car. Therefore, as soon as Uniqway announced that it was including the new ŠKODA CITIGOe iV in the fleet, I wanted to test it as an enthusiast of modern technologies. Last week I finally got hold of it (there is a lot of interest in it, so it is often borrowed) to test the driving characteristics. I've had experience with other electric cars in the past, so I knew what to focus on. CITIGO is nimble, agile and ideal for the city not only due to its small size. Engine power and range are both great and can be further increased by various modes of recuperation (storing braking energy back into the battery). I was excited about the ride and I thank Uniqway for the opportunity to ride this car! ”A student of the University of Economics shared his impressions of driving in a new electric car.

Uniqway's priority remains the safety of users, of whom there have been almost 3,000 since the service was launched in 2018. “All vehicles in operation are regularly disinfected and ozone generators are used to clean the interior. Sufficient disinfectant gels are always prepared for users in each vehicle and at the same time they are instructed on how best to protect themselves and their surroundings, ”describes Tereza Lukůvková, another member of the Uniqway marketing team.
