Architecture studio Hlaváček - Čeněk won an award for innovative approach in teaching architecture. The tower with a view point, built by students of the Institute of Design II at the Faculty of Architecture of the Czech Technical University, can be found in Libčice nad Vltavou. Libčický mast was the only building designed and implemented by students of architecture.

The project was commissioned as a “embark point” for the future park in Libčice nad Vltavou. The observation tower is a new landmark in the countryside and offers exceptional views of the Větrušice Gorge on the opposite bank of the Vltava River. Its concept is inspired by the brick history of the place. The model for its construction was a brick weave, the principle of which was humorously translated by the author of the design Kristýna Rejsková into a wooden form.

The project was supported by Skanska Reality a. s., which plans to build a park in Libčice nad Vltavou as part of the upcoming residential district, while also supporting student activities and cooperation with CTU in the long term. The revitalization of the neglected slope above the town should provide the inhabitants of Libčice nad Vltavou with a pleasant living environment.
