Faculty of Biomedical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in cooperation with the Society for Radiobiology and Crisis Planning of the Czech Medical Association of Jan Evangelista Purkyně organized an expert conference ‘Current Possibilities of Medical Facilities in Solving Extraordinary Events and Crisis Situations’ on 12 April. There were 19 lectures that were attended by the participants with great interest as they got acquainted with the current situation in the given issues in Prague's major hospitals (General Teaching Hospital, Central Military Hospital - Military University Hospital, Institute of Clinical and Experimental Medicine, The Faculty Hospital Motol, Traumatology Hospital Brno).

Other lectures presented key problems of security at health care facilities, the technical possibilities and the danger of cyber attacks. A valuable contribution was the communication devoted to psychological aspects or the legal protection of staff and patients. In addition to Faculty of Biomedical Engineering of the Czech Technical University, teachers from Czech Academy of Sciences and University of Defense also participated at the conference. The event was organized within the framework of lifelong education of Czech Medical Chamber. MUDr. Věra Adámková, CSc., Chairwoman of Health Committee of Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic. The event was worth six credits in the framework of the lifelong learning of medical staff.
