January 15th witnessed the successful defence of dissertation thesis before International Committee in doctoral study program ‘History of Technology’ within the double degree / co-tutelle program in which CTU in Prague cooperates with the Université Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne. The author of the thesis is doc. Ing. Martin Pospíšil, Ph.D., who elaborated a study ‘Graphical structural engineering in the Czech Lands’, covering 2nd half of the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century.

The History of Technology study program (referred to as CDSP HT) has a wide international reach and enables its PhD students not only to be eligible for post-graduate studies but also to an important international scientific collaboration. Since 1 July 2018, The CDSP HT successfully works under the Rector's Office of the Czech Technical University in Prague in the capacity of the Vice-Rector for Science, Creative Activities and Doctoral Studies prof. Ing. Zbyněk Škvora, CSc. Other applicants for this PhD study may apply for an admission procedure for the academic year 2019/20.

The CDSP HT is professionally connected to a significant Czech (Association of Historians of the Czech Republic, Society for Economic and Social History of the Czech Republic, Czech Committee for the History of Science) and to foreign scientific societies (Fondation Electra, IEHA, EBHA) and to the activities of domestic and foreign scientific institutions and universities.
