On 16 March, ten personalities and three aviation and astronautics teams were awarded. During the ceremony held in the premises of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic, members of the Subcommittee for Aeronautics, Innovation and Astronautics, headed by their chairman Mr. Dolinek, presented the awards to important personalities from the field of aeronautics and astronautics in the State Acts chamber of the czech parliament. Vladimír Daniel and team of VZLÚ, a.s., Letňany were among the laureates for the successful implementation of the Czech nanosattellite project VZLUSAT-1, launched on 23 June 2017. The project also cooperated with representatives of the Institute of Technical and Experimental Physics and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at CTU.

The first Czech technical nanosattellite VZLUSAT-1 was produced by the Research and Testing Institute of Aeronautics in cooperation with Czech commercial companies and Czech universities under the leadership of Ing. Vladimír Daniela PhD., where CTU was represented by the Institute of Technical and Experimental Physics and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering. The Technology Agency of the Czech Republic participated in the development of the Alfa program. In orbit, this satellite was launched on June 23, 2017 within the international QB50 mission. Successful activity has proven the high quality of the solution chosen and valuable unique experimental verification of products and commercial technologies in extremely extreme cosmic flight conditions around the Earth's orbit.
