The results of the 20th annual Werner von Siements Prize were announced on 22 February. The Czech branch of Siemens awarded projects in the field of technical and science disciplines in seven categories, including a special prize for overcoming barriers to study and prizes for the best female dissertation. One million crowns were distributed among the winners with two representatives among them from CTU in Prague.

For his work on the Mathematical model of the auditory periphery, Ing. Ondřej Ticháček from the Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering took the 3rd place in the category of Best Diploma Work. His tutor was prof. Mgr. Pavel Jungwirth, DSc., From the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic.

The 2nd place in the best dissertation thesis category was taken by Ing. Tomáš Lukeš, Ph.D. from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering with his diploma thesis on Super-resolution microscopy live cell imaging and image analysis made in cooperation with the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne. The work was tutored by prof. Ing. Miloš Klíma, CSc. from the Department of Radioelectronics of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering.
