A Hybrid Manufacturing (HM) type WELDPRINT MCV 5X machining equipment, developed by KOVOSVIT MAS, a.s. in cooperation with Department of manufacturing machinery and equipment of Factulty of Mechanical Engineering, has been awarded the gold medal in category “Innovations developed through cooperation of companies and research institutes in Czech Republic / Slovakia within state -supported development projects". Ing. Libor Kuchař, director-general of KOVOSVIT MAS, a.s., and prof. Michael Valášek, dean of Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, received the award.

The WeldPrint MVCV 5x machine belongs to the hybrid manufacturing category. Additive and substractive technology is integrated into one workspace. The Institute of manufacturing machines and equipment of Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, CTU participated on its development by work of Ing. Jan Smolík, Ing. Ivan Diviš and Ing. Tomáš Fornůsek. The technology received patent No. 306654. The material is applied using a modified electric arc.

The machine can be seen at the International Fair of Mechanical Engineering in Brno at stand No. 150 of the KOVOSVIT MAS, a.s. company, located at pavilion P.
