At the 5th annual Structures With Wood Scent 2017 contest, which was attended by 66 students from 9 Czech and Slovak universities, the students from CTU won in several categories. This year's theme was Wood is the Way, which is the title of an awareness campaign launched last year by the Wood for Life Foundation.
CTU students received the following awards:
The design of wooden buildings category
Matyáš Vrtiška from the Faculty of Civil Engineering, won the 1st prize of the jury - for the design of a family house near Lipno. In the same category, the Public award went to Vaclav Šimeček from the Faculty of Civil Engineering for his holiday reserort design in Kokořín.
The design of wooden constructions category
The winner in this category of both the prize of the jury and the public is Vojtěch Slavík from the Faculty of Civil Engineering with his proposal for a Riding Hall in Pardubice.
The STORA ENSO prize for the use of CLT materials in designing the Jestřábí bouda chalet was received by Tomáš Krč from the Faculty of Architecture.
