Faculty of Biomedical Engineering in Kladno inaugurated the newly built Laboratory of Biochemistry and Clinical Biochemistry on 9 February at 13.00. Besides faculty management representatives, the event was also attended by the Deputy Mayor of Kladno, Ing. Premysl Mužík.

The laboratory will be used mainly by students of medical study fields, most of them from the Medical Analyst undergraduate course. The laboratory is equipped with high-end devices, such as powerful spectrophotometers and osmometer for clinical and biochemical analysis of biological material, microscopic examinations and ultimately to enable methods of molecular biology and genetics. The new facility was created within the  “Widening and improving the laboratories of the Department of Health Professions and Population Protection” project. It will be also used for practical lessons of the Clinal Biochemistry subject, where they will deepen their skills required for spectrophotometric determination of analytes in advanced tasks, expand their microsopy skills and gain experience with the automatic analyzer.
