The 23rd annual European Fair of Education and Lifelong Learning, Gaudeamus, was held at the Brno fair grounds on 1 to 4 November. The CTU exhibit wa evaluated as the best for the third time in a row. Reviewed by the high school students, the team of our university regularly ranks at the top positions since 2010.

The CTU interactive exhibit didn´t just offer visitors information about study opportunities, but also showcased interesting research projects and presentations by representatives of individual faculties. Among them, the dean of the Faculty of Engineering, prof. Michal Valášek, introduced various activities to future students with help of the of student formula CTU CarTech team.

Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering prepared exclusive opportunity to the attendees in form of remote control of its thermonuclear fusion reactor. Thanks to the exhibits of Faculty of Electrical Engineering, fair visitors could test the functionality of the algorithm for face detection, or fly on a flight simulator, developed with its students.

Visitors were also attracted to the functional model of a water canal, designed by the water management laboratory of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, according to which the real canal for the Summer Olympics was built in Rio de Janeiro.

240 exhibitors in 104 exposures were presenting at the fair. In addition to domestic schools, 90 renowned foreign universities and colleges from 20 countries were presented as well. During 4 days of the fair, it was visited by 28,000 people (secondary school students, teachers and educational counselors).
