The Memorandum of Cooperation was signed on 9 September between prof. Peter Konvalinka,Rector of CTU, and Opatov high school principal RNDr. Jan Perina. The Opatov high school is home to a unique facility for teaching particle physics - a cloud chamber, which was created under a project of chemistry teacher Mgr. Jan Bauer and his then high school students Ondřej Zbytek and Ondřej Svoboda. They are currently studying at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering. Both institutions expressed interest to cooperate on technical matters related to education of pupils and students and expanding expertise of Opatov high school teachers, as well as academic staff of CTU.

The joint activities will compare teaching methods in the schools, training of secondary school teachers will be developed and  collaboration on projects and student works witihn the high school´s professional education is planned as well. In this way, Opatov high school will obtain experts and mentors at CTU  for their students' projects.

The cloud chamber is a device that displays usually invisible radioactivity that servers both for demonstration of natural phenomena or for their research or study. The CTU rector inspected the cloud chamber berfore signing the Memorandum and discussed with students about cooperation with CERN. In case of successful implementation of cooperation under the Memorandum, Opatov high school will become a CTU partner.
