The weekly excursion to the Czech power plants and related installations for students of the Electrical engineering, Energetics and Management study program was organized by the department of Economics, Management and Humanities of Faculty of Electrical Engineering on 23 May. Seventeen first-year graduate students attended the event.

As part of  the event, participants visited the CSA brown coal surface mine (Severní energetická, a.s.), wind power plant at Habartice u Krupky, Tušimice power plant (ČEZ), electrical distribution plant in Hradec u Kadaně (ČEPS), the Plzensky Prazdroj brewery, photovoltaic power plant in Bušanovice (Korowat), the paper mill in Větřní (ICU), the Lipno hydro plant (ČEZ), the biomass heating plant in Trhove Sviny (THTS), the nuclear power plant in Temelín and the natural gas underground storage Háje near Příbram (RWE).

The aim of the excursion was to demonstrate the operations of energetic facilties to students and familiarize them with the topic directly in practice. The weekly visits to power plants and other related businesses has a long tradition and is organized by the Department of Economics, Management and Humanities, already planning the following year´s one.
