Visitors of the exhibition “A Century of information - the computer world”, opening of which was held on 19 May at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Prague, can view the display of 400 kinds of Czechoslovak and foreign computers from 70s and 80s which come from private collection of Petr Váradi of Stara Paka.

The exhibition, prepared by the Historical Lab of Electrical Engineering and a team of professionals and staff of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in cooperation with the private collector, presents the breathtaking development of computer technology since the second half of the last century. Besides contemporary computers, visitors to the exhibition are be able to try playing videogames like the Pong!, use contemporary calculators and other peripherals. Extensive literature on the historical computing can also be browsed. Some of the exhibited machines are functional and available to try.

Exhibition is open to public at the faculty building in Dejvice every Wednesday from 25 May to 15 June from 13.00 to 17.00 hours, or by an appointment.

The Czech Press Agency, the Czech Radio, Novinky.cz, or the Blesk Magazine also informed about the exhibition.
