Dr. Jan Rusz of the Signal Analysis, Modelling, and Interpretation Group research group, working at the Department of Circuit Theory Faculty of Electrical Engineering CTU, received the Discovery Award 2015 for progress in the use of speech disorders for diagnosis and studies of the mechanisms in neurodegenerative diseases.

 

The award was recieved in the category of innovative clinical, diagnostic and preventive approaches, including prototyping tools or equipment including ICT solutions. Discovery Award is granted by the Novartis company to researchers under 40 years who have contributed to substantial shift in medical and pharmaceutical. The aim of this prestigious competition is to encourage bold and innovative projects by young czech scientists that will help patients and improve their quality of life. The award also points to the innovative potential of the czech healthcare and pharmacology in the European and global context.
