This year, Masaryk Institute of Advanced Studies (MIAS) organized the second year of the International Project Workshop (IPW), which can be described as unique without exaggeration. Its implementation requires close cooperation between several universities and private companies, the aim of which is to give students of the Bachelor's programme the opportunity to test their theoretical knowledge in practice.

This year, Université de Lille and Mykolas Romeris University from Vilnius were partners of MIAS. The private sector was represented by Linet, Komerční banka, Rhea Group, Cofidis, Total Energies and L´Oréal, which also defined the terms of reference for the projects on which the student teams worked. Each team had a leader from among the academic staff of the above-mentioned universities, and there was always a professional advisor from the respective company. However, the role of both was rather consultative and coordinating, the project solution was in the hands of the students. In addition to teamwork, they could also experience communication in an international environment, as the teams were proportionally composed of students from all three universities.

The common theme of this year's projects was innovation and its application in a number of fields, from HR to logistics, management to finance. The students were introduced to the specific assignments of the projects during the IPW kick-off week, which took place in February 2023 at CTU (more information here), while further teamwork was already taking place online. The student teams met again after two months, on 21-26 April, this time at Mykolas Romeris University, to finalise the results of their efforts during the final week and then present them to the expert jury. The jury considered all the presentations and proposals successful and the representatives of the companies that were members of the jury promised that their companies will implement the successful solutions in practice.

IPW 2023 has once again demonstrated that it is a project that is beneficial to all involved, and MIAS intends to continue its organisation in future years.
