Experience the Faculty of Transportation Sciences (FD) for yourself, this is the message of the current students of the faculty towards high school students. Students of the Prague 'Transport faculty' are playing a leading role at the upcoming Daz of Open Doors, which will take place on 3 February 2023, in the Horská building in Prague 2, from 9.00.

"Our current students remember well how big a role in deciding on their choice of further studies was played by getting to know the future university (faculty) first-hand," says PaedDr. Lenka Kubešová Zápotocká from the PR team of the Faculty of Transportation Sciences.

The programme starts at 9.00 in the morning. with presentations on the study programmes and specialisations that can be studied at the faculty. At the end of the presentations, the high school students can look forward to a future Transport student's draw for material prizes.

After the presentations, stands of individual departments and institutes with interesting interactive exhibits will be prepared in the faculty premises. Visitors will thus learn that Faculty of Transportation Sciences covers the entire spectrum of transportation with its study programmes and specialisations.

Applicants can get all the necessary information about the admission procedure at the stand of the study department. At the main Info Point, current students will answer all questions about their studies and subsequent employment. At the same time, they will be ready to assist high school students in filling out the application form. Groups will also leave from here for guided tours of the building and laboratories, where the guides will again be FD students.

Those interested will have a look into the faculty's premises, top laboratories and specialised workplaces where the future of transport is being created. These include the Smart Cities Lab, the Mobile Transportation Analysis Lab and many more. Rail fans will enjoy the Transportation Hall with model railroad tracks and a display of railroad technology. Aviation enthusiasts will definitely be impressed by the air traffic control simulation, the flight simulator in VR or the Airbus A-320 simulator. For motorcycle fans, there will be a presentation of the student racing team of the faculty - the CTU Lions.

In the chill-out zone, one will be able to chat quietly over coffee with current students, who will be ready to answer any questions you may have about studying and student life at the faculty. The Open Day could not take place without students from the eFDrive student club, which will also be present at the event. Transportation has always been with us and has moved the world. It affects each of us and is thus a social topic, which is why the Faculty of Transportation Sciences of the CTU in Prague launched a new campaign "Move the Future" for secondary school students last autumn. As part of the campaign, a new intuitive web portal Rozhýbej budoucnost (Move the Future) was also launched together with Faculty of Transportation Sciences of CTU in Prague, which has seen great interest since its launch, especially from young people and applicants for studies.
