A space called Vector Technická was inaugurated with a large turnout. Among the speakers was the rector of CTU in Prague Vojtěch Petráček. He said that he hoped for the success of the whole scientific-cultural-social event, especially seeing how many visitors came to the Hanami celebration.

Vojtěch Petráček, Rector of the Czech Technical University in Prague, Pavel Matějka, Rector of the Institute of Chemical Technology in Prague, and the Councillor of the Capital City of Prague. Although the sakura blossoms have not yet fully bloomed in this cold spring, the space below them in Technická Street was full. The day-long programme was well attended and the official launch of the Vektor Technická project, with all the institutions associated with the Dejvická Campus present.

"The quadrant behind us is not yet in sight, yet we can see the enormous potential of this space and its capacity for all the planned changes. I wish everyone to enjoy Vektor Technická," said Vojtěch Petráček, Rector of the Czech Technical University in Prague. He added that he hopes for the success of the Vektor Technická project - the newly created pedestrian space, where concerts and other cultural events, as well as scientific workshops and lectures will be held until the end of June.

The opening speeches were followed by a concert by the internationally acclaimed producer DNÉ, and as part of the celebration of the original Japanese holiday Hanami, the tones of the Japanese drums Wadaiko Yosa Yosa were heard.

The founders of the Vektor Technická project are the six institutions involved in the Kampus Dejvice platform. They are united by a common interest in making the Dejvice campus more attractive for social, student and scientific life. The Dejvice Campus consists of the Czech Technical University, the Catholic Theological Faculty of Charles University, the Prague 6 Municipal District, the National Technical Library, the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry of the Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Chemical Technology in Prague.
