How does it all work? We will meet on Friday at 17:00 at Kantor Coffee at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, hear information about the project from representatives of the organization Our Children in Kog z.s. and their plans for the future. Over the weekend we will be looking for solutions and working on the project design together.
What we will create - assignment:
- Project name: Orphanage facilities (DR Congo)
- Location:DR Congo, Niolo village
- Contractor: Naše děti v Kongu z.s.
- Orphanage in Loang owns 10 hectares of fields in the village of Niolo, 10 km away. The plan is to use the land to create a farm, the operation of which would help to financially support the orphanage's operations. This would include accommodation for the farm manager, a tool store and accommodation for the children of the orphanage to come and learn about the operation of the farm during the school holidays. There are currently two small buildings on the site which are insufficient for the intended use. At the Project Marathon we will be developing a solution that may include, in part, the use of the buildings that are already on the property.
Who can participate? Anyone who wants to get involved or is interested in how a development project is created: students, seniors, professionals or even the lay public.
