For the twenty-second time, Czech Siemens will award the Werner von Siemens Awards to the best students of technical and science universities, young scientists and teachers. As in the previous year, the best diploma and doctoral theses (awarded by both student and supervisor), the best result in basic research , the best pedagogue and the best diploma / dissertation in the Industry 4.0 category will be awarded. In addition, awards will be given for overcoming obstacles to study and for the outstanding quality of female scientific work. Contestants can submit their works and projects until 30 November.

The Werner von Siemens Prize is held under the auspices of Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, Andrej Babiš, Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic and Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic. Siemens cooperates with 15 Czech universities and colleges and the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. The winning works are selected by independent committees composed of leading experts in Czech science, such as the rectors of CTU, BUT, UK and Masaryk University and the chairwoman of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. The prize is one of the most significant independent initiatives of its kind in the Czech Republic in terms of its scope, amount of financial rewards and history. In its twenty-second year of the competition, the prizes will amount to almost CZK 1 million.

The competitions are in the following categories: Best Diploma Thesis, Best Dissertation Thesis, Best Basic Research Result, Best Educator, Best Graduate Work Industry 4.0, Award for Overcoming Obstacles in Study and Award for Excellence in Female Scientific Work.
