The Christmas PETrea, which will be lit at a ceremony on 1 December at 18:00 pm, will be placed in front of the National Technical Library. The exhibition space in the form of a Christmas tree was created by students of Faculty of Architecture in collaboration with students from primary, secondary and grammar schools. A five-meter tree made of PET bottles is to highlight the importance of plastics recovery and recycling.

PETree is made from tin mesh, cables and 12,000 PET bottles, which constitute the supporting layer and represent the amount of PET bottles produced within several minutes in the Czech Republic. Students want this installation to highlight the collection and recycaltion of plastic waste.

The Christmas tree, created under the leadership of the Achten - Nováková experimental studio at the Faculty of Architecture, will be on display until 26 December. Involved in its implementation is also the Institute of Intermedia, Faculty of Civil Engineering and the National Technical Library.
