"I see the election result as recognition of the work of the entire faculty management and everyone involved in its development. At the same time, it is a commitment for me to continue the work I have started and to further strengthen the quality and openness of our school," said Dalibor Hlaváček after his election.
As the largest school of architecture in the country, FA ČVUT has expanded its activities in recent years to include landscape architecture, design, planning, and development, in addition to traditional teaching of architecture and urbanism. "This diversification reflects the complexity of today's world and the need for a multidisciplinary approach to creating environments," added Hlaváček.
He wants to continue developing the faculty as a creative and respected academic institution. "I strive for a school that responds to social changes, offers top-quality education, research, and artistic activities, and supports creative freedom and collaboration across disciplines," he said.
In the coming four-year period, he plans to complete a review of study programs, expand teaching in English, and open up new opportunities for international mobility. The faculty will also strengthen its links with practice and interdisciplinary cooperation, creating a platform for joint projects with cities, institutions, and companies.
Another priority will be to modernize the faculty's facilities for creative activities. The faculty is also preparing an online library that will provide open access to the results of the faculty's work. It also plans to launch a peer-reviewed journal that will publish original research results in the fields of architecture, landscape architecture, urbanism, and spatial planning, including artistic research.
