Today, October 8, the CTU Lions team ceremoniously unveiled their new competition motorcycle for the prestigious international MotoStudent competition. The event was attended by sponsors, faculty representatives, the media, and other guests.

University students from the CTU Lions team have designed and built a brand new electric racing motorcycle, which they will present at the prestigious MotoStudent competition. The competition will take place on October 15–19, 2025, at the MotorLand Aragón circuit in Spain. The task for this season was clear – to build a new racing motorcycle that would be even better than the previous one and thus build on the successes of previous years.

The concept of the MotoStudent international competition remains unchanged: the organizers provide a standard electric motor, braking system, and tires. Everything else—the design, construction, and assembly of the complete motorcycle—is entirely in the hands of the individual teams. This is where the technical skills, creativity, and teamwork of the young designers come into play.

This year, the CTU Lions team students are presenting a new competition motorcycle, which is a significant step forward compared to the previous generation. Thanks to design optimisation, the weight of the machine has been reduced by approximately 40 kg.

Other technical data:

  •     the engine power is 40 kW at peak values,
  •     the battery box has a capacity of 7kWh and consists of 28 series of 3 parallel-connected cells,
  •     the maximum speed of the motorcycle is calculated at 210 km/h.

"We have done a tremendous amount of work over the past year – we have made progress in terms of design, technology, and teamwork. The new motorcycle is lighter, more powerful, and ready to compete internationally. I am proud of the entire team and I believe that we are ready to show what we are capable of," said Vojtěch Thums, head of the CTU Lions team.
