One of the indicators in which CTU scored significantly is a relatively new category - sustainability. The university also scored in the ratio of the number of academic staff to the number of students and in the number of international students. The most significant improvement was in the category of involvement in international research networks.
"Long-term results, including the QS World University Rankings, show that CTU is rightly regarded as an excellent technical school that is sought after by students, teachers and scientists. And it has something to offer to all these groups," comments Vice-Rector Zbyněk Škvor on the latest ranking.
"We rank in the top five percent of evaluated universities. That's not a bad score. Our strategy of supporting excellent teams and international cooperation is working," adds Vice-Rector for Strategy and Development Veronika Kramaříková.
The goal for next year is to put CTU back among the top 400 schools in the world (CTU's best ranking was 378th in 2023). There remains room for improvement, for example, in the category of number of scientific citations.
16 universities were evaluated within the Czech Republic, the first being Charles University. CTU is now the second best university in the Czech Republic and steadily maintains its position as the best Czech university of technology.
