On Friday, 13 June, representatives of the City of Prague, Prague universities and the University Stadium Prague Association signed the agreement at the residence of the Mayor of Prague. Prague City Hall on the premises of the Mayor's Residence in Prague. The common aim of all parties involved is the creation of a new university hockey stadium in Prague, which would subsequently serve not only academic sport but also the wider public. On behalf of the CTU, the memorandum was signed by Vice-Rector Radek Holý.

The memorandum was signed by representatives of Charles University, Czech Technical University, University of Economics, Czech University of Lifwe Sciences and the University Stadium Prague Association, which initiated the project. In the document, Prague commits itself to making every effort to find a suitable site for the construction of the stadium.

"The signing of this document is a big step for the whole university hockey, especially for the clubs in Prague, which have long been struggling with insufficient facilities for development. I firmly believe that this declaration will be followed up with concrete steps that will lead to the actual implementation of the stadium. Considering the current state of sports infrastructure, this is a crucial topic that will affect the future existence of university hockey in Prague," says Tomáš Hlaváč, member of the board of directors of the University Stadium Prague association and vice-president of our university's hockey club - CTU Engineers Prague.

The University Stadium Association guarantees that at least 50% of the stadium's capacity will be used by university clubs. The rest will be offered to youth, women's and para hockey or other sports. Commercial use will be used to ensure operational sustainability.

The Memorandum has a declaratory character and serves as a framework for further negotiations and preparation of the concrete form of the project.
