This ranking has been compiled by the QS consulting company since 2004. The results of the discipline rankings are calculated on the basis of five criteria: academic reputation, reputation with employers, number of citations per article, H-index and international research network. The first two criteria are evaluated based on a global survey of academics and employers, while citations are determined based on data in Elsevier's Scopus database.

With this success and continued growth in the academic world, CTU once again confirms its leading position among technical universities in the Czech Republic and internationally.

The QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025 ranked 1747 universities from more than 100 countries.
