At the ceremonial session of the CTU Scientific Council on Tuesday, 21 January, Professor Poki Chen from the Taiwan University of Science and Technology in Taipei received an honorary doctorate from CTU. The award ceremony took place in the Bethlehem Chapel.

Prof. Chen has been working closely with Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Faculty of Transportation Sciences of CTU for many years in the field of analog integrated circuits and establishing bilateral cooperation. He was the co-organizer of the 2nd International Conference on Intelligent Green Building and Smart Grid held in Prague in 2016 and co-organized the implementation of Dual degree Master and PhD programs and bilateral research cooperation program aimed at joint publication of high quality research papers between CTU and National Taiwan University of Science and Technology. He also participated in the establishment of the Taiwan Chip-based Innovation Academy office at CTU. As a visiting professor at Faculty of Electrical Engineering, he teaches a summer intensive course and a semester course on analog integrated circuit design taught in the winter semester. He also works closely with the Taiwan Semiconductor Research Institute and Taiwanese university professors to strengthen the teaching of digital and analog integrated circuit design at CTU in Prague.
