The umbrella entity is the Security Department of the CTU Rectorate, which ordered the service and cooperated in its creation. This information application also includes the so-called MicroGuard, which is able to send out an information SMS and guide people in danger to the correct solution of a risky situation. Through the application, the university-wide security team can also communicate with the crisis staffs of individual faculties and institutes.
This includes a wider range of hazards and emergencies such as fire, water supply accidents, the presence of an unwanted person on the premises, etc. A pilot welcome SMS has just been sent in the system today.
"I am very pleased that we have once again made progress in ensuring the safety of our students and staff. As far as I know, we are the first university in the Czech Republic that is able to use such an extensive information and targeted system and thus prevent unwanted panic in a crisis situation," said Vojtěch Petráček, CTU Rector.
After the recently signed Memorandum of Understanding on mutual cooperation in dealing with crisis situations at the Dejvice Campus, this is another and very important step towards greater safety for people at CTU and its surroundings. This is in the spirit of the motto 'Security is not an obstacle - it is a path to success'. The University has been working on security measures for a long time, but does not want to specify them in order not to reduce their effectiveness.
