Andrii Vedernikov received the award from the hands of the Vice-Rector for International Relations prof. Ing. Oldřich Starý, CSc.

The presentation of the extraordinary scholarship of Prof. Vlček took place at the Prague Mayor's Residence on Wednesday, 4 December 2024. This year this award, provided by the Study in Prague consortium, went to seven students from five universities.

The extraordinary scholarship of Professor Miroslav Vlček is an expression of respect to the memory of the head of the Department of Applied Mathematics at CTU Faculty of Transportation Sciences and a long-time Vice-Rector for Foreign Relations.

He was the spiritual father and coordinator of the Study in Prague project, which brought together seven Prague public universities and attracted hundreds of international students to study in Prague.

Andrii Vedernikov won the scholarship as an outstanding student who presented the opportunities of studying at Faculty of Electrical Engineering of CTU to a wide audience of students and professionals during his international activities. He helped to expand academic cooperation and opportunities for new students and promoted CTU's reputation as an institution open to international cooperation and student exchange. Andrii's attitude and enthusiasm demonstrates the values we wish to cultivate in our students - commitment, openness and willingness to contribute to spreading awareness of our alma mater beyond the borders of the Czech Republic.

"I appreciate the award immensely and I see it as a confirmation that I am doing something right"... came from Andrii's mouth along with his thanks to all those who contributed to his nomination.
