Orientation Week (OW) for self-paying students - News service

On Tuesday, 17 September, almost one hundred international students attended the first day of OW at the premises of the MIAS. The students were welcomed by the Vice-Rector for Foreign Relations of CTU, Prof. Oldřich Starý. This was followed by a series of presentations by representatives of the Prague Integration Centre, ESN, the CTU's Institute of Physical Education and Sports, ELSA, CIPS and the Student Union.

The students also appreciated the presentation of the Head of the Department of Civil Engineering of Faculty of Architecture, Dr. Aleš Marek about the possibilities of joining the network of foreign universities within the EuroTeQ project and practical information of the EuroTeQ Ambassador Ing. An interesting insight into the life of students abroad was provided by the presentation entitled "Culture Shock" by the Director of Ranking Strategy Caleb Daniel House, MSc.

The tour of Faculty of Information Technology led by RNDr. Jiřina Scholtzová was complemented on Wednesday 18 September by a visit to Bethlehem Chapel and the historic city centre with Veronika Hanson.

The program was concluded with a visit to the laboratories of Faculty of Civil Engineering accompanied by Ing. Arch. Patrik Kučera and introduction of services of NTK and CTU Central Library by Mgr. Klaudia Kudličková on Thursday, 19 September.
