"The main objective was to discuss the strategic framework of our cooperation. To agree on common procedures and to put our current individual cooperation and projects into a coherent and long-term concept," Petr Jinda, Executive Vice President & Chief Development Officer at Aero, informed about the meeting.
Long-term cooperation covers a wide range of projects, including the supervision and preparation of bachelor, master and scientific theses. Aero also offers opportunities for students from these universities to participate in internships. Representatives of Aero and the universities have also agreed to meet annually to evaluate results and discuss the way forward.
"We currently recruit 5-10 students per year for internships and have already collaborated on several important graduate theses," comments Petr Jinda. He also underlines: "We are also planning a series of professional lectures, which will be led by experienced experts and specialists in the field of aviation. Strategic cooperation with universities and joint projects will contribute to the entire Czech aerospace industry".
However, partial partnerships with Czech universities have been in place for some time. For example, in June this year, Aero agreed with CTU to develop software for the collection and analysis of operational data for the new L-39NG trainer aircraft and its predecessor, the L-39 Albatros, with an emphasis on ensuring their safety and reliability.
One of the reasons for this year's opening of the new development centre in Brno, which specializes, among other things, in the field of avionics and accompanying documentation for the L-39NG aircraft, was the existing cooperation with local universities BUT and UNOB.
