The CzeCCAM (Association for Autonomous and Cooperative Mobility) non-profit organization was set up in the Czech Republic in January 2023. Its main aim is to support the development of autonomous technologies. The main partners are the Faculty of Transportation Sciences of CTU in Prague and VDT Technology, Yunex, SÜD, Smart Plan, the Prague Advanced Technology and Research Innovation Centre (PATRIC), and IDIADA.

The Association aims to accelerate the development and the implementation of new technologies, and to raise awareness about ways to handle autonomous mobility. Prof. Ondřej Přibyl, Dean of the Faculty of Transportation Sciences says: “We initiated the setting up of the association, which aims to bring strong players in the field of science and research together with commercial companies. We are joining together to exert an active influence on the development of science and on applications in this important field. Our aim is to contribute to the creation of sustainable and effective solutions that will facilitate the day-to-day life of people, and at the same time minimize the impacts on the environment.“

The founding members are continuing to participate in major projects, thanks to which autonomous mobility is becoming a part of everyday life, moving towards the integration of autonomous vehicles into present-day transport networks and providing support for key technologies such as artificial intelligence, Big Data and cybernetic security. In the future, CzeCCAM will present large-scale demonstrations of new technologies, will ensure safe interactions with other participants in road traffic, and will  raise the level of  safety of users of autonomous vehicles.

”Integrating  autonomous vehicles into the present-day urban environment is just as important as developing the technologies. This new association ensures that development will take place in a proper way, and is making a contribution as an element in an efficient and sustainable transportation network,“ the Dean of the faculty adds.
