Faculty of Architecture of Czech Technical University in Prague invites you to the ongoing exhibition of studio works from the summer semester. It offers projects of 65 studios studying Architecture and Urbanism, Landscape Architecture and Design. The opening ceremony associated with the opening of the diploma projects exhibition will be held on 13 June at 18:00.

The exhibition is a probe into the teaching at CTU FA, students work on real places and assignments. The themes of the projects reflect current events, specific social and ecological situation and its challenges. An example is the work of the Hájek-Hulín studio, which addressed the area of the village of Voděrádky on the eastern border of Prague. A cultural centre for the Vlček family is being built on the site of a former landfill. New buildings are constructed from recycled materials mined on site or recovered during demolition. The task for the students was to design other necessary buildings and small architecture for the site - a theatre stage, a robotic laboratory, studios, a gallery, a floating gazebo or a bridge. All with an emphasis on environmental friendliness and energy efficiency.

The Hlaváček-Čeněk-Minarovič studio chose the design of the new parliament building as the main theme for this semester. The aim was to reflect on the requirements of this institution, how it should function, how it should present itself to the citizens, what it should symbolize today and in the future, and how architecture can help to achieve these goals. The new building should combine both the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic in one place.

Among the landscape architecture studios, we can mention the first-year studio Špalková, which went to the Bohemian Karst, where St. John under the Rock still speaks strongly to pilgrims and ordinary visitors. However, the cultural decline of the second half of the 20th century has taken its toll, and many of the landscapes around the monastery have disappeared. The aim of the students' proposals is to bring the site back to life through landscaping and small-scale building interventions.

An example of design students' cooperation with industry are the student designs of the Jaroš studio, where this semester they worked with wood waste from the TON company. They processed semi-finished products and leftovers from the production of traditional bentwood furniture. They tried to create a meaningful product suitable for further serial processing.

The exhibition of studio works can be visited until 23 June 2023 daily from 9.00 to 19.00. Entrance is wheelchair accessible and free of charge. All projects created by students of CTU Faculty of Architecture are available online, the first years have their own web gallery. Photos from the exhibition can be viewed in the section From the life of FA.
