On the second weekend in November, the CTU sports team participated in the VIIth World Interuniversity Games held in Barcelona. Exactly 100 students, members of 11 sports teams, fought for the right to represent our university in the strong competition of 3 continents, 25 countries, 64 universities and about 2 000 athletes.

All the medal winning teams, led by the winning footballers, futsal players and the mixed team of swimmers, contributed the most to our victory. Second places were then won by the basketball players, third places by the volleyball players and the mixed teams of badminton, tennis and table tennis players.

On their path to victory, our triuphant teams competed against their opponents as follows:

Golden soccer players (20 teams overall): ČVUT – St. Galen 2 : 0; - Bordeaux 4 : 1; - Paris 1 : 5; - Comenius Bratislava 1 : 0; - Marseille 3 : 0; Stockholm 1 : 0;

Golden Women´s hall soccer players (14 teams): ČVUT – Paris 13 : 1; - Madrid 1 : 0; - Beirut 2 : 1; - Miláno 7 : 6 (penalty); - Comenius Bratislava 4 : 2 (penalty).

Swimmers (23 teams) zvítězili ve více jednotlivých disciplínách než jejich silní soupeři z  Gentu, Leuvenu, Antwerp, Karlsruhe, Izraele a Egypta. 

Silver Men´s basketball players (27 teams): ČVUT – Miláno 33 : 29; - Le Creusot 32 : 23; - Paris 32 : 23; - Řím 31 : 14; - Zadar 28 : 19; - Comenius Bratislava 35 : 33; - Vilnius 17 : 28.

Silver Women´s basketball players (14 teams): ČVUT – Paris 53 : 12; - Beirut 38 : 17; - Miláno 35 : 16; - Marseille 28 : 25; - MU Brno 17 : 25.
