What does climate change mean or what impact does the energy sector have on the lives of students, students and experts debated at the Energy Conference at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague on 7 June.

The conference can be viewed in retrospect as a series of podcastst.

"Basic facts about climate change, energy security or consumer behaviour under its influence. The future of the Czech energy sector, emission allowances or technologies that will be able to capture CO2 in the coming years and decades. These are just some of the topics addressed at our conference. Climate change was discussed at FEL CTU from the point of view of climatology, water management, energy, economics or electrical engineering and both top experts in their fields and students, including high school students, contributed to this discussion," said Ing. Adéla Holasová from the company Energy Literacy, which sponsored the conference.

Students from the František Palacký Secondary grammar school in Valašské Meziříčí presented their contributions on the topic of water retention in the ground and students from the Cyril and Methodius secondary grammar school in Prostějov presented their findings on the issue of urban heat islands.

The conference concluded with a moderated plenary debate. Throughout the day, the conference was accompanied and moderated by Tomáš Studeník, an innovator and urban hacker who leads creative and innovative workshops and organizes CEE Hacks innovation marathons. The conference programme and the list of speakers can be found via the link Conference | Energetic Literacy (energeticka-literacy.cz). The conference can also be watched back or listened to as a series of podcasts on individual topics via podcast apps.
