Prof. Pavel Exner was elected a member of the Mathematical Section of the European Academy of Sciences (EurASc). This non-governmental, non-profit and independent organization brings together almost a thousand scientists working in Europe, including ten from the Czech Republic.

Professor Pavel Exner, an internationally renowned theoretician and specialist in mathematical physics, is the director of the Doppler Institute for Mathematical Physics and Applied Mathematics (a joint workplace of the FJFI, the Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences and the University of Hradec Králové). He works, among others, at the Department of Physics, Faculty of Nuclear Science and Physical Engineering, CTU in Prague (FJFI) and is the coordinator of the Theory Programme at the Centre for Advanced Applied Sciences (CAAS) He is also a member of a number of other national and international scientific societies and organizations, such as Academia Europaea, where he heads the Physics and Engineering Sciences Section, or the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
